New Zealand Visitor Visas
Visitor visas allow you to travel to New Zealand for tourism, to visit family and friends, for short business trips, or for short-term study. At Sunrise Immigration Services, we can help you navigate the visitor visa application process to ensure a smooth journey to New Zealand.
Types of Visitor Visas
Multiple Entry Visitor Visa
This visa allows you to enter and exit New Zealand multiple times within the visa validity period.
- Stay for up to 6 months in a 12-month period
- Enter New Zealand as many times as you want during the visa validity
- 12-month period calculated from your intended departure date
- Must have been outside New Zealand for at least 9 months in the 18-month period before applying
Single Entry Visitor Visa
This visa allows you to enter New Zealand once and stay for a longer period.
- Stay for up to 9 months in an 18-month period
- Enter New Zealand only once
- 18-month period calculated from your intended departure date

Visa Waiver Countries
Citizens of many countries do not need to apply for a visitor visa before traveling to New Zealand if they:
- Are visiting for 3 months or less (or 6 months if from the UK)
- Have a passport from a visa-waiver country
- Meet health and character requirements
- Have an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority)
Visa waiver visitors still need to request an NZeTA before traveling to New Zealand. The NZeTA is not a visa but an electronic travel authority that allows you to travel to New Zealand.
